Mainichi Knotting ("we," "our," or "the shop") recognizes the importance of protecting personal information and complies with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information ("Personal Information Protection Act"). We are committed to appropriately handling and safeguarding personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy ("Policy").

1. Definition of Personal Information

In this Policy, “personal information” refers to information defined in Article 2, Paragraph 1 of the Personal Information Protection Act: information about a living individual that can identify a specific person through name, date of birth, or other descriptions (including information that can be easily matched with other data to identify a person), or information that contains personal identification codes.

2. Purpose of Use

We use customers’ personal information for the following purposes:

  1. To provide our services

  2. To respond to inquiries or provide information related to our services

  3. To inform customers about our products, services, or events

  4. To address violations of our terms and policies

  5. To notify customers of changes to terms, policies, or services

  6. To improve our services and develop new offerings

  7. To compile statistical data in a form that cannot identify individuals

  8. For purposes incidental to those listed above

 

3. Changes to Purpose of Use

We may change the purpose of use of personal information within a scope reasonably deemed relevant. If a change is made, it will be announced or notified to customers.

4. Restrictions on Use

Except as permitted by law, we will not use personal information beyond the scope necessary to achieve the stated purposes without the customer's consent. However, this does not apply in the following cases:

  1. When required by law

  2. When necessary to protect the life, body, or property of a person and obtaining consent is difficult

  3. When especially necessary for public health or the sound upbringing of children, and obtaining consent is difficult

  4. When cooperation with national or local government duties is required, and obtaining consent would hinder execution of such duties

 

5. Proper Acquisition

We acquire personal information by appropriate means and do not use deception or other wrongful methods.

6. Security Management

We take necessary and appropriate measures to prevent loss, destruction, falsification, and leakage of personal information. When outsourcing all or part of the handling of personal information, we ensure appropriate supervision of contractors.

7. Third-Party Provision

We do not provide personal information to third parties without prior consent, except as permitted by law. However, the following are not considered third-party disclosures:

  1. When outsourcing to a contractor within the scope necessary to fulfill the purpose of use

  2. When provided due to business succession such as a merger

  3. When jointly used under provisions of the Personal Information Protection Act

 

8. Disclosure

Upon a request from a customer based on the Personal Information Protection Act, we will confirm the identity and disclose personal information without delay. If the information does not exist, we will notify the customer. However, this does not apply if we are not obligated to disclose under applicable laws.

9. Correction, Addition, or Deletion

If a customer requests correction, addition, or deletion of personal information ("Correction, etc.") due to inaccuracies, we will confirm the identity and conduct necessary investigations. Based on the results, we will make the correction and notify the customer. If no correction is made, the customer will be informed accordingly.

10. Suspension of Use

If a customer requests suspension or deletion ("Suspension, etc.") of personal information due to unauthorized use or acquisition by improper means, and the claim is found valid, we will confirm the identity and proceed without delay. The customer will be notified accordingly. This does not apply if we are not obligated under applicable laws.

11. Use of Cookies and Similar Technologies

We may use cookies or similar technologies to understand usage trends and improve services. Users may disable cookies via browser settings, but doing so may limit some functions of our services.
